Welcome to the February Newsletter from Alpine Tracks. Even though we are just half way through a superb snowy winter, we have already finalised our plans for the next winter season. The Portes du Soleil is a fabulous ski area, masses of skiing, traditional Alpine villages and close to Geneva Airport. For next winter we will feature chalets in Morzine — Both Chantelle and Gentaime have saunas and large outdoor hot tubs. While over in Champery we retain the popular Rose des Alpes, a traditional Swiss chalet in the centre of the village. Construction of our new flag ship chalet — The Mountain Lodge is well under way. This superb ski in ski out chalet set up at 1600m is due to open on 7 December 2008. Short breaks have become increasingly popular especially in the Portes du Soleil—good skiing coupled with easy access from Geneva Airport. Short breaks will be available in all our chalets next winter starting or finishing on a Sunday. Our main transfer day is now Sunday— the airports are much quieter, flight prices lower and more importantly you spend less time on the transfer coach and more time out on the snow! Geilo in Norway offers families and guests learning to ski a unique skiing experience, extremely snowsure, wonderful wide open quiet ski slopes, no queues and hosts that understand and speak perfect English. We have added ski in ski out chalets, large spacious apartments as well as the luxurious Dr Holms hotel to our already established programme.
The Mountain lodge is our exciting new Chalet Hotel scheduled to open in October 2008. The Mountain Lodge is a totally unique chalet hotel—there is nothing else like it in the Portes du Soleil. Situated at 1600m in a new Alpine development, the Mountain Lodge is a fully ski in ski out 4 star chalet style hotel.
Facilities within the chalet will included a Spa Wellness area featuring a 7m swim
spa, 8 person indoor hot tub, steam room, sauna as well as an 8 person outdoor
hot tub—which has glorious views over the Dents du Midi, a cinema room, childrens
play area, separate bar, lounge area with open log fires, dining room and
reception area. All the 24 spacious bedrooms feature full en-suite facilities with
large walk in showers—some bedrooms have baths, and balconies. 4 bedrooms are The chalet is built in a vehicle free area and is linked underground to our heated ski and boot room attached to our new ski hire shop. The nursery slopes are just opposite the chalet while one drag tow will link in to the Mossette Chairlift and the rest of the Portes du Soleil. Prices 2008/09
Prices shown are per person and include return airport transfers, half board chalet accommodation - breakfast, afternoon tea and 4 course evening meals, local taxes and ski guiding service. Child discounts of 50% are available when children share a family room with 2 full paying guests. Prices for Geilo are per person based on 6 sharing a 3 bedroom cabin, self catered and include either hire car or return airport transfers. A deposit of just £25 per person confirms the booking. The balance would then be due 10 weeks prior to your holiday commencing.
